Why God Exists

Reason has often been thought as antagonistic to existence of God. Usually those who believe in God often find it difficult to counter the arguments based on the so-called logic and reasoning. Similarly those who believe in science and reason are completely convinced that God cannot exist at all and therefore anyone who believes in the existence of God is driving down a road full of nothing but darkness. I consider it nothing but mere conjecture. There are certainly some valid reasons to believe in God, otherwise one may speculate how can anyone ever be guided to His existence.
The Creation
As a matter of principle, no observer in the world ever looks at any monument without asking questions about its origins. No one ever looks at architecture and not query about the architect, and no one looks at a piece of art and not ask who the artist is. Not only that, we are all further intrigued to find out the reasons and motivation that goes in order to craft that particular object in that particular way. Fly out of this world into the space for a moment. Look back at the world and the way it operates. The sun sends its light to the Earth, which causes water to evaporate, which is taken by winds across masses of land, which hit mountains and precipitate forming clouds, which travel further and cause rain. This sunlight and rain together cause humungous trees to grow out of plain seeds. These trees produce food that is consumed by humans. Many intricate details of this process are not encountered here but are known to most who have studied science in their school days. And this process is what gets food into our mouths everyday. Now look at this process from an outsider’s view looking down upon this world from space and observe how a human is born and this complex process is already in its place, not only having been created from nothing but also having been sustained over at least a few hundred centuries. This world and the complex environment within are a testimony that there is someone who has carefully laid down this plan.
How logical is it for someone to look at the systems that prevail in this world, forming a perfect balance and equilibrium to remark “Amazing—but I am sure there is no creator!” No one would remark that on a monument such as a water dam or a piece of art. So why would anyone feel this way on this world and associated systems that are in place since ever?
These are some of the facts that fall within the range of our five senses and these conclusions can be reached at with the help of our mental abilities.
The Creator
Even though the foregoing observation is enough for me to believe in an Omnipotent and All-Wise God for it is not possible for anyone who does not possess these qualities to create this miracle, nonetheless in order to reinforce my theoretical conclusions of the existence of God, I do look beyond my imagination to drive out any shadows of doubt.
Before we look at the reasons, we need to briefly understand the significance of history in our lives. Scientific laws are often confused with facts in general. The First World War that took place in the early twentieth century is a fact – a historical one and not a scientific one. However, that does not change anything whatsoever for there is no doubt in the truth of its happening. There is no way for someone to prove it today but it was witnessed by those who lived at the time of its happening.
To limit one’s life to the dominion of scientific laws only would be limiting a human’s ability significantly and if strictly followed it would lead one into questioning everything and accepting only if proven scientifically. That would also mean that we would not trust anyone about anything unless they proved it, eventually leading to almost no communication at all.
This is not how the humans operate however. The reason we believe in the First World War is that so many people witnessed it and passed it further down that there is no logical reason to not believe so. It is an irrefutable historical fact.
Similarly, numerous people claimed to be prophets of God with the message that He created the world and the systems within. They proved it to the people who existed in their times and their prophet hoods were witnessed by all. Then that information was passed to us in an unbroken chain of transmission in the form of history with so many people witnessing and transmitting it, that it has established itself as a historical fact.
Consequently, those who do not believe in existence of God should bring forward their proofs in the same way that those who do not believe in the First World War should bring their proofs. Until there is a clear proof and a reason to believe the contrary, the existence of God is an irrefutable historical fact.
But What About Evolution and The Big Bang?
At this point, it is possible for many to claim that evolution or the big bang are those proofs. Even though, it is not clear how these scientific theories can really be proofs towards denying historical facts, there is still sufficient reason to not consider these as alternative explanations.
Let us examine these processes and their relation to the existence of God:
1. Both the process of evolution and the big bang are hypotheses which do not have a proof in the domain of scientific knowledge, meaning that they cannot be proven or disproved. Therefore, unless they are proven to be true, they cannot be regarded as scientific laws in disproving something else.
2. Even if they are proven to be true, there is no reason to believe that the creator of this world did not formulate either of these processes as a means to accomplish the task at hand.
With regards to evolution, there is another important fact worth noting:
3. Even if the process of evolution is proven to be true, it has nothing to do with the process of the creation. Evolution is a process that takes place in a preexisting environment and does not explain anything that comes out of nothingness.
Conclusion
This world is a living miracle of God and has existed ever since humans have known history.
